![]() I do not know how it can, of course, this level arcade doing it. ![]() Guys forget that the Tirpitz is not "all or nothing" armor layout was built thus it enjoyed a much better protection than the North Carolina which has become a disadvantage because they do not think it was much better results in tolerance. I din't have the knowledge at that moment that Tirpitz has so much armor on that part. ![]() I don't think luck had anything to do with it, I aimed at the citadel (middle section, just above the water line), shells hit that part. So my evaluation of the OP's situation was that it was just more unlucky than normal. Overall it might be less than others, but they can mitigate their chances of citadels more than a Tirpitz can mitigate serious regular penetrations. ![]() In my experience, damage is a lot more consistent against Tirpitz. And honestly, I'll take that over overpenning or citadelling. It is not uncommon to see 10-20k regular penetration salvoes. That is naturally a double-edged sword as going for them means aiming for a much smaller section of the ship (resulting in more misses that could have been regular penetrations).īut what she has in citadel protection she lacks in regular penetration protection. She doesn't take citadels easily (though plunging fire does work better than other battleships of that range), but it seems that the magazines are a fair bit easier to get hits into. My experience both against as well as with the Tirpitz is that she doesn't bounce well. Other than that, you were just extremely unlucky, and I dare say that North Carolina is the better BB of the two ultimately. I seem to take most of my citadels right there, under the front guns. I can advise you to try to shoot their magazine citadel, the front one. ![]() I own Tirpitz and I have to say I never bounced a shot from a similar situation. ![]()
